Paying the piper...

McDonald Vs. Chicago - Landmark case incorporating the Second Amendment as an individual right against the States and their subordinate governmental bodies, rooted in Heller.

Heller vs. Washington, D.C.
- Landmark case incorporating the Second Amendment as an individual right against the City of Washington, D.C., a federal district.

In each case, the heavy lifter has been the Second Amendment Foundation, an organization based in Washington that currently funds and is litigating a dozen or more pro-2A rights cases across the United States with an astonishing success rate.

That kind of thing isn't cheap, though. Lawyers, and their staffs, have gotta eat and keep the lights on.

I'm asking everyone to seriously consider giving a ring to the SAF and asking Alan & Co. if they'd mind terribly if you organize a wee fundraiser on their behalf. Pattern it after FONRA dinners, do a drag show, hold a barbeque, put on an auction - if it's legal, run it past SAF, and when the fun is done...send them a check!! Heck, hold a brunch and pass the hat!!

Every little bit helps. And don't forget to write up the notion in your own blogs or circulate it among your friends.
